PredictAny will host a monthly stock and crypto prediction tournament where you can better your prediction skill, have fun, showcase your prediction talents and compete with others to win!

Post a Prediction

The tournament will begin on the first of the month, and end on the last day of the month, during which time participants will be invited to provide predictions for stock or crypto performance. These predictions will include a target price, the target date of the last day of the month, and the probability that the target price will be reached. Predictions can be posted any day of the month, and points for a successful prediction will be awarded if their target price is hit at any point from the time they submit their prediction to the end of the month.

Any US stock or crypto can be used to create a prediction, as long as the target price must be more than or equal to +/- 5% from the current market price of the stock or cryptocurrency. Tournament participants can also create as many predictions within each tournament period as they would like. The end score will be an average of their score for each of these.

Scoring for the tournament will be based on the Modified Brier Score, which weighs both the success of the prediction and the accuracy of the prediction’s confidence level (the probability associated with the prediction). A Modified Brier Score (1 – Brier Score) will be created for each prediction individually, and the average of these within the month will be the overall score for the tournament. The scoring can range from 0 to 1, with 1 being a perfect score.

What is Prediction?

For the PredictAny Tournament predictions will be required to contain a Price Target and a Probability (%) that the stock or crypto will hit that Price Target on or before the last day of the month. Predictions can be made for any stock or crypto, but the Price Target must be more than or equal to +/- 5% change from the current market price of that stock or cryptocurrency.

How will I be ranked?

Each prediction will be rated using the Modified Brier Score. The average of these scores for all of your predictions during the tournament period will be your overall score for the tournament. Scores are on a scale from 0 to 1, with 1 being the highest possible score.

What is the Modified Brier Score?

The Modified Brier Score ranks a stock prediction on a scale of 0 to 1 based on the confidence of the prediction, and whether or not that prediction came true
The Modified Brier Score is 1- the Brier Score, providing a ranking between 0 and 1 where 1 is the highest possible score. Calculation of the Brier score is explained below.
The accuracy of a set of probabilistic predictions (also called “forecasts”) can be formally measured with a Brier score. The math is fairly intuitive. First, consider a set of events with binary outcomes (“X will or will not happen”; “Y will or will not happen”). If an event comes to pass (“X did happen”), it’s assigned a value of 1. If an event doesn’t occur (“Y didn’t happen”), it’s assigned a value of 0. Given probabilistic predictions for those events (“.92 probability of X”; “.34 probability of Y”), the Brier score is just the mean of squared differences between those predictions and their corresponding event scores (1s and 0s). That is, it’s the mean squared error:
